Help for Katrina survivors

As of September 8, Springs Rescue Mission has already helped 5 surviving families of Katrina Hurricane relocated to El Paso County.

How to help

We are looking for donations of the following. All items must be in good condition.

How to get help

If you were affected by Hurricane Katrina and lived in Louisiana or Mississippi, you must go to the Red Cross first. At the Red Cross, register for a FEMA number. Once you have a FEMA number, then see Anne Monday through Friday.

Adopt-a-Family will connect you with families who have relocated from the disaster areas to El Paso County. Adopting a family will allow you to aid them in specific areas that can range from food, new clothes and toys to toiletries, child-care items and transportation.

Colorado Springs Hurricane Katrina Relief Fund
Financial donations given to the fund are used to feed relocated storm survivors in El Paso County and supply them with gift cards for groceries, new clothing and other necessities.

Volunteers are needed locally and in Denver (transportation will be provided) to feed relocated hurricane survivors and help with other support efforts.
