Back to School

Just when the children are jumping for joy over starting their long awaited summer break, the Springs Rescue Mission's Emergency Services Department is already thinking "Back to School". This year's goal is to provide at least 100 children with book bags and school supplies for the upcoming school year. John Lendzion, the department's coordinator, remarks, "We would like every poor child to have the same school supplies as every other child."

In the approaching months, many stores will be starting their "back to school" sales and specials. This would be a perfect time to purchase a few extra items for those children who would otherwise be without the basic school items needed to be academically productive.
