If you've ever passed a panhandler on the street and felt guilty for giving nothing, you're not alone. We have something for you to give. It costs you almost nothing, and it helps them much more than cash.

Most of the time if you give cash, it just enables a lifestyle of dependence or addiction to alcohol or drugs.

Instead, give a Homeless Service Card. They are business-card sized, so they are easy to carry. The cards feature information about our services, and our services are designed to truly help.

It's something you will feel good about.

Instructions

Using perforated business card paper is handy, so you don't need scissors. This paper is available from office supply stores. Look for 2" x 3 1/2" cards on 8 1/2" x 11" paper. One example is Avery 683177.

If you do not have perforated paper, use cardstock (heavy paper). If you don't have that, just use plain paper.

  1. Insert cardstock paper in the printer.
  2. Download the card design page [PDF].
  3. Print the design.
    • Tip: If you using Acrobat Reader, the card design page may show "embedded" in your browser. If so, use Acrobat Reader's print button on the toolbar. Do not use browser's print button.
  4. Cut out with scissors or a paper cutter (if applicable).
  5. Put a few cards in your wallet or purse.
  6. Give a few cards to your family members and friends.
