Springs Rescue Mission depends on its “Community Champions” to help transform the lives of men and women experiencing homelessness, hunger and addiction in Colorado Springs. An ever-growing number of these community partners are helping create a Community of Hope — an extensive homeless resource campus offering shelter, meals and services to help our neighbors in need find housing, regain their health and get back to work.“These businesses, organizations, nonprofits and churches are compassionate members of our community, investing significantly our mission,” said Chief Development Officer Travis Williams. “Together, with thousands of individuals across this beautiful city of Colorado Springs, they contribute to helping our most vulnerable neighbors in ways that cannot be overstated.”These partners champion the Mission by volunteering their time, organizing events and making generous financial contributions that make our work possible. In fact, roughly 97 percent of our funding comes from the faithful philanthropy of these organizations and individuals (and others like them).
“We are thankful for their help, and we hope more organizations and individuals join us to create pathways out of homelessness, hunger and addiction for our neighbors in need,” said President & CEO Jack Briggs. “Together, we can help transform lives and provide hope to those who need it most.”
These generous commitments help the Mission feed, clothe and shelter hundreds of guests every day. Contributions to our capital campaign helped us to increase shelter capacity to 450 beds, build a new 185-seat Kitchen and Dining Hall, create a Resource Center to offer essential services and is now making it possible for us to create a much-needed Welcome Center for this Community of Hope.Local partners like Colorado Springs Utilities made financial contributions to help make physical repairs to our campus; others like Ent Credit Union, El Pomar Foundation and Colorado Springs Health Foundation made it possible for us to complete the new Samaritan’s Kitchen and Dining Hall; and financial institutions like USAA, Wells Fargo and T. Rowe Price partnered with SRM to advance programs focusing on housing, job training and other essential services for those in need.

We also want to recognize the help provided by countless businesses and organizations throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.“To see so many rally together to care for homeless individuals during this critical time is a testimony to this community,” Williams said. “We recognize we’re all in this together. The outpouring from this community to serve their fellow man has been inspiring. Perhaps we can all stretch a little more to serve, offer grace, and continue doing our part to care for one another.”
