Colorado Springs, CO – The Springs Rescue Mission (SRM) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that it has appointed Travis Williams as the organization’s new President & CEO, effective immediately.
Williams said he is “honored and excited to continue serving alongside the incredible SRM team in this new capacity” as he steps into the role with fresh perspectives and a passion for empowering neighbors in need.
“By working together as a community, we can bring hope and healing to those in need — we can help transform lives in Colorado Springs,” Williams said. “I am humbled by the opportunity to lead SRM into its next chapter, as we continue to care for our neighbors experiencing homelessness, poverty and addiction.”
Williams has been an integral part of Springs Rescue Mission leadership since 2016, most recently serving as Interim President & CEO as the Board worked to identify the organization’s next leader.
“After a nationwide search to find the best individual to lead Springs Rescue Mission into the future, the Board believes we’ve found the best person for the job,” said SRM Board Chair Trenton Langhofer. “Travis’s passion, leadership and faith-driven approach make him the perfect choice to lead SRM into its next season of growth and impact.”
Prior to his interim role, Williams served for eight years as the organization’s Chief Development Officer, championing innovative approaches to fundraising, community collaboration and program development. This work was integral in helping SRM expand its downtown campus and provide life-changing resources for neighbors in need.
Langhofer referenced a dedication to the continued health and success of the organization, as well as the ability to honor tradition while looking toward the future, as reasons for the board’s decision to appoint Williams.
“I have no doubt that Springs Rescue Mission will continue to thrive under Williams’ leadership,” Langhofer said. “He has both a deep respect for SRM’s legacy and a bold new vision for its future; wisdom to see growth opportunities, and the courage to act.”
Williams said he is committed to deepening SRM’s impact in Colorado Springs by continuing to help the community meet challenges related to homelessness, which remain an ongoing topic of interest for city leaders and residents alike.
“This is a moment for our community to reimagine what’s possible,” Williams said. “Together we can restore dignity, build meaningful relationships, promote healing and empower individuals to take ownership in their own unique stories of transformation.”
Williams began his career as a financial advisor in Southern Colorado before pursuing a working life in ministry. Before joining SRM, he held leadership roles at Focus on the Family and Awana, where he spearheaded strategic initiatives and supported global outreach efforts. Williams has also offered strategic insight to other ministries by serving on numerous nonprofit boards.
A native of Southern Colorado, Williams grew up in Pueblo, where he developed a deep appreciation for community, hard work and service. He has spent the past 20 years in Colorado Springs, where he lives with his wife Devon and their three children.
